Emma Hagstrom - Artist - Born 1998
My primary motive as an artist is for my artwork to help connect the viewer to their authentic, compassionate inner being. To increase consciousness and increase connection between the viewer and the earth and the other beings they share earth with.
I want to invoke feelings of appreciation, awe and love for nature and animals. I want people to re connect with the sacred magic and love in all life around us.
I want these feelings of love and awe to manifest into true expressions of love, respect, peace and unity for all life forms.
At the same time I need to make people aware of the brutal atrocities they are making happen when they pay for and consume anything that is not vegan. I do this by creating in many different ways and always trying to think of new ideas and approaches. I have worked in the mediums of painting, drawing, photography, video, performance, creative writing and music. In all of these mediums I take a range of approaches, some are subtle, inviting and loving while others are to display the hard truth in the most straight forward manor that I can. For me this balance is essential, as when I have focused too much on the harsh truths, it has led me to burning out. I believe it is also very important to focus of visions of the world we want to see, visions of freedom and happiness, but we must still be aware of the reality.
